Network and Inventory Discovery can be easily extended through a series of these XML configuration files, allowing the administrator complete control over how and what types of things are discovered on the network.
Monitoring can be customized and extended by adding new or modifying existing monitor types, all defined in XML. These files tell Jaguar's patent-pending monitor engine how to collect data for a network element. Types of things like which objects to poll, alternate queries based on presence of certain objects or tests based on values, and value-based expressions, are all items that can be customized or extended. And because of our patent-pending adaptive polling technology, you can be sure that data will never be dropped due to bad polls or SNMP MIB updates, as the monitor engine automatically recalibrates to changes in MIB structure.
Collectors should be able to gather, normalize and then output data in more than one format. The way data is output is controlled by Jaguar's Output Engines. These are also extensible. More about this here...
